A rodent box comprising a chamber having at least one wall, where the wall comprises an aperture to allow access into the chamber and where the box is provided with a spacer section extending in a direction away from the chamber. The rodent box is configured so that when the spacer is positioned against a wall or floor, a channel is defined between the chamber, the spacer and the wall or floor. The spacer is configures so as to allow the rodent to remain substantially in contact with the building wall while passing through the channel. The arrangement provides an uninterrupted passage for the rodent and so avoids triggering its neophobia.
