PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active species-generating unit that prevents the amount of active species generated from being reduced, and to provide an active species-generating apparatus.SOLUTION: An active species-generating unit includes: a case 13 that has an air inlet 13a and an air outlet 13b an electric discharge electrode 15, the tip end side of which is inserted in an air-flowing passage that connects the air inlet 13a and the air outlet 13b in the case 13 a conductive part 17 oppositely placed at a predetermined interval on the tip end side of the electric discharge electrode 15 in the case 13 and an electric power-supplying part 2 for applying voltage to the conductive part 17 and the electric discharge electrode 15, wherein a control part 20 is provided for constantly controlling electric current to be flown between the conductive part 17 and the electric discharge electrode 15 from the electric power-supplying part 2.
