The present disclosure relates to an interference screw for creating an interference fit between a bone hole and tissue. The screw includes a screw body portion having a proximal end and a distal end, and a thread extends around the screw body portion between the proximal end and the distal end. A support spline extends along the intubation through the screw body. The support spline is engageable with the delivery device. The screw further comprises at least one opening defined by a surface between the threads of the screw body. The ratio of the open surface area to the closed surface area is selected so that when the screw is inserted into a reduced bone hole when the torsional load is applied, the screw does not exhibit plastic deformation. The screw further comprises a tapered tip extending from the distal end of the screw body.
