A peritoneal dialysis system (10) is described. The system comprises: an automated peritoneal dialysis ("APD") machine (104, 104a, 104b) programmed to (i) store a plurality of prescribed therapies that target different amounts of ultrafiltration ("UF") to be removed, the different amounts of UF requiring the use of different dextrose level dialysates, and (ii) perform, from the plurality of prescribed therapies, one of the prescribed therapies selected for a treatment. The APD machine (104, 104a, 104b) is further programmed to keep track of how much of each dextrose level dialysate is consumed over the treatment. In one embodiment, the peritoneal dialysis system comprises a plurality of automated peritoneal dialysis ("APD") machines each of which is programmed as described above.
