PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel polymer material with biocompatibility capable of constructing a biocompatible surface while maintaining an excellent mechanical characteristic and to provide a method of producing the polymer material.
SOLUTION: The polymer material with biocompatibility is characterized by having a structure in which a polymer having vinyl carboxylate as a constitutional unit is dispersed in a nanometer order in the amorphous portion of a polyolefin matrix and constructing a surface having a phosphatide polar group, wherein the phosphatide polar group is fixed by chemically modifying a hydroxyl group generated by hydrolyzing an ester group of the polymer present in the vicinity of the surface.
