The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing a bisphosphonic acid in combination with a non-activated metabolize of vitamin D for oral administration. The compositions of the invention either do not contain or contain only low concentrations of a glidant. Also provided are methods for preparing such compositions and methods of use thereof, for preventing or treating abnormal bone resorption in mammals.
