PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal image on which variation in surface shape is reflected.
SOLUTION: An imaging device includes a light irradiation unit which irradiates a body with light of a predetermined polarized light component, a photodetection unit which receives light of the predetermined polarized light component of return light from the body irradiated with the light by the light irradiation unit and light of a polarized light component, different from the predetermined polarized light component, of the return light, a shape variation image generation unit which generates a shape variation image showing shape variation of a surface of the body based upon the light of the predetermined polarized light component that the photodetection unit receives, and an image generation unit which generates a composite image by putting the shape variation image over an internal image as an image of an inner side from the surface of the body based upon the light of the polarized light component different from the predetermined polarized component that the photodetection unit receives.
