PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating albumin from biomolecules by removing the bonding of the biomolecules bounded to albumin.
SOLUTION: This separation method includes to extract plasma component to the outside of a living body, electrodialyze it under a specific pH, selectively remove albumin-binding biomolecule therefrom, and return albumin to the body again. This separation method has superior removal capacity of albumin-binding toxin, especially bilirubin and indoxylsulfuric acid, and is useful for the treatment of renal insufficiency and hepatic insufficiency.
