Provided are a packeted drug inspection device and method that are able to accurately determine at a low cost whether a packeted drug is correct. In one embodiment of the present invention, the correctness of the drug type of the drug introduced into a packeter is determined on the basis of dispensing information for the drug to be packeted and drug type information for the drug introduced to the packeter. Count information by outer appearance indicating the count for the drugs packeted for each packeting sac by outer appearance is acquired. Each packet of the drug is imaged. On the basis of the images of the drug obtained by imaging, the count for the drug packeted in each packeting sac by outer appearance is tallied. Comparing the count information by outer appearance and the tallying results of a tallying unit by outer appearance, it is determined whether or not the count by outer appearance of the drug is correct. On the basis of at least the drug type information of the drug introduced to the packeter and the dispensing information of the drug that is packeted, the possibility of a misidentification determination is determined.
