PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove or relax restrictions when estimating a CT image noise map.SOLUTION: A method for estimating a noise map from a reconstruction image comprises grouping a first number of views into first and second groups. The first and second groups comprise a second number of views and a third number of views, respectively. One of the second number and the third number is smaller than the first number. Two reconstruction images are reconstructed from projection data of views included in the two groups.
