A method of fermentation and cultivation comprising fermenting a material derived from an edible plant and containing carbohydrates, whose main component is a polysaccharide, with an optional anaerobic gram-negative bacterium that lives in a symbiotic relationship exclusively with a plant, and simultaneously cultivate said facultative anaerobic gram-negative bacterium, in which the starch contained in said material derived from an edible plant is fermented as a carbon source, in which said facultative anaerobic gram-negative bacterium is Pantoea agglomerans.Un metodo de fermentacion y cultivo que comprende fermentar un material derivado de una planta comestible y que contiene hidratos de carbono, cuyo componente principal es un polisacarido, con una bacteria gramnegativa anaerobia facultativa que vive en una relacion simbiotica de forma exclusiva con una planta, y cultivar de forma simultanea dicha bacteria gramnegativa anaerobia facultativa, en el que como fuente de carbono se fermenta el almidon contenido en dicho material derivado de una planta comestible, en el que dicha bacteria gramnegativa anaerobia facultativa es Pantoea agglomerans.
