An adjustable supporting device for a surgical table of the present invention uses a platform having first and second end portions. First and second end supporting rods are used to install the platform, and are adjusted by a carriage having a pawl operator. The carriage includes studs having supporting surfaces for the platform. A tower using a gear rack is mutually interacting with the pawl operator of the carriage to position the platform with respect to the first and second end supporting rods of the surgical table.
