PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the attraction and intrusion of cockroaches due to the diffusion of the odor of pet feed.SOLUTION: As information for opening a feeder cover 2-3, either a pets switching operation, the pets weight, an RFID tag, or cry recognition is used. A cover of an outer feeder casing 2-1 is closed after pet meal signals are absent for a certain period of time. As a pet meal signal, either the sound or vibration due to a meal, the application of weight to the outer feeder casing 2-1, or the pets weight is used. In a system using an RFID tag, the lack of an RFID signal is also regarded as the completion of a meal and serves as a signal for closing the feeder cover 2-3.
