PURPOSE: A method for preparing iron oxide nanoparticles of paramagnetism or similar paramagnetism is provided to produce a large amount of the nanoparticles. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing iron oxide nanoparticles comprises: a step of reacting fatty acid including C4-C25 and aliphatic alcohol of C4-C25 or aliphatic amine including C4-C25 at 150°；C-350°；C. The method further comprises a step of cooling and washing the nanoparticles and to dispersing a precipitate in organic solvent. The size of the nanoparticles is less than 4nm. A magnetic resornance image(MRI) T1 contrast agent contains the nanoparticles.본 발명은 상자성 혹은 유사상자성을 가지는 산화철계 나노입자의 제조방법 및 이에 의해 제조되는 산화철계 나노입자, 및 상자성 혹은 유사상자성 산화철 나노입자를 포함하는 T1 조영제에 관한 것으로, 좀더 상세하게는 올레산철 착물(iron oleate)의 열분해를 기반으로 4 nm 이하의 매우 작고 균일한 크기의 산화철 나노입자를 제조하는 방법 및 이를 통해 제조되는 상자성 혹은 유사상자성 산화철계 나노입자 및 상자성 혹은 유사상자성 산화철계 나노입자를 포함하는 T1 조영제에 관한 것이다.
