The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating diabetic microvascular complications comprising a vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 3 (VEGFR3) inhibitor as an active ingredient. The composition may be useful for the prevention or treatment of diabetic microvascular complications by reducing oxidative stress and apoptosis through reduction of intestinal toxicity in the kidney, fibrosis in the kidney and inhibition of infiltration of inflammatory cells.본 발명은 VEGFR3(Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor 3) 억제제를 유효성분으로 포함하는 당뇨병성 미세혈관 합병증의 예방 또는 치료용 약학 조성물에 관한 것으로서, 상기 조성물은 신장 내 지방독성의 감소, 신장 내 섬유화 및 염증세포의 침윤 억제를 통한 산화스트레스 및 세포사멸 감소에 의하여 당뇨병성 미세혈관 합병증의 예방 또는 치료에 유용하게 사용할 수 있다.
