PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus which can suppress heat generation of a gradient magnetic field coil within an acceptable range and prevent elongation of an imaging time, in imaging to which a gradient magnetic field pulse of large current is repeatedly applied during pulse sequence.SOLUTION: An MRI apparatus is provided with a pulse sequence of diffusion weighted imaging including application of a plurality of MPG pulses and an imaging control part for controlling an order of application of the plurality of MPG pulses. Basically, the imaging control part controls an order of application of the MPG pulses on the basis of estimated temperature of a gradient magnetic field coil so that application is performed in a descending order of current amount. Moreover, the basic order of application may be modified and, for example, a descending order and an ascending order of current amount are arranged by turns. Or combinations of application directions are three-dimensionally rotated, and after a combination of application direction in which the current amount becomes minimum is searched for, the basic order of application is controlled.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT【課題】パルスシーケンス実行中に大電流の傾斜磁場パルスが繰り返し印加される撮像において、傾斜磁場コイルの発熱を許容範囲に抑制し、しかも撮像時間の延長を防止することのできる磁気共鳴イメージング装置を提供する。【解決手段】MRI装置は、複数のMPGパルスの印加を含む拡散強調イメージングのパルスシーケンスを備え、複数のMPGパルスの印加順序を制御する撮像制御部を備える。撮像制御部は、基本的には、傾斜磁場コイルの予測温度をもとに、MPGパルスの印加順序を、電流量が大きい方から順に印加するように制御する。さらにこの基本的な印加順序に修正を加えてもよく、例えば、電流量が大きい順と小さい順とを交互に配置する。或いは印加方向の組み合わせを三次元的に回転させて、電流量が最小となる印加方向の組み合わせを検索した上で、基本的な印加順序の制御を行う。【選択図】図5
