The invention relates to a method for producing chicken at a hatchery, the method comprising； - incubating a batch of eggs in an incubating device during an incubating period of between about 7 to about 20 days, and then, - for each egg of the batch, detecting the presence of a hatchable chicken embryo, - based on the presence of a hatchable chicken embryo, dividing the batch of eggs into at least a hatchable batch portions and a not-hatchable batch portion, - hatching the hatchable batch portion until hatching occurs, - rearing of chicken hatched from said hatchable batch portion, wherein the method comprises at the hatchery processing the not-hatchable batch portion into feed and administering said feed at the hatchery to hatched chickens during rearing.L'invention concerne une méthode de production de poulets dans une écloserie, la méthode comprenant les étapes suivantes : - incuber un lot d'œufs dans un dispositif d'incubation pendant une période d'incubation allant d'entre environ 7 jours à environ 20 jours, puis - pour chaque œuf du lot, détecter la présence d'un embryon de poulet pouvant éclore, - en fonction de la présence d'un embryon de poulet pouvant éclore, diviser le lot d'œufs en au moins une partie pouvant éclore et une partie ne pouvant pas éclore, - faire éclore la partie pouvant éclore jusqu'au déroulement de l'éclosion, - élever les poulets éclos provenant de ladite partie du lot pouvant éclore, la méthode consistant à transformer, dans l'écloserie, la partie du lot ne pouvant pas éclore en nourriture et à administrer ladite nourriture dans l'écloserie aux poulets éclos pendant l'élevage.
