An apparatus (10) for laser-assisted eye treatment comprises a laser device(12) and first and second accessory modules.The laser device is configured to provide focused laser radiation and has acoupling port (14). The first accessory module mayform a patient interface (52) and has a contact surface (66) for an eye. Thesecond accessory module includes a measuring device(16) that performs measurements of the laser radiation. ln certainembodiments, the measurements include the measurement of apulse duration of the laser radiation using a detector (18) operating on thebasis of two-photon absorption. The first and second accessorymodules are configured to detachably couple to the laser device (12) at thecoupling port (14). Only one accessory modulecan be coupled to the coupling port (14) at a time. Therefore, the firstaccessory module must be removed from the coupling port(14) before the second accessory module can be attached to the coupling port(14).
