The compliant catheter adapter may include a catheter adapter body formed of a compliant material. The catheter adapter body may have a generally elongated shape and an internal chamber. The catheter adapter body may include a compression resistant septum disposed toward the proximal end of the catheter adapter body. The compression resistant septum may have a lumen configured to receive an elongated object.
