In one aspect, the dialysis system includes one or more tubes, a display, and one or more processors for transporting fluids to and from a dialysis patient. The one or more processors are configured to determine the identity of the user of the dialysis system. Based on the determined identity of the user, the one or more processors access the user interface configuration profile associated with the user and display the user interface on the display. The user interface includes one or more controls that, when called, cause the dialysis system to perform a dialysis operation.
