According to an aspect of the present invention, a blood pressure measurement apparatus may comprise: a pulse wave measuring unit including a first light source for measuring a pulse wave signal of a subject, a second light source for inducing a change in a contact force between the subject and the pulse wave measuring unit, and an optical detecting unit which receives light irradiated from the first light source to the subject and returns from the subject, and measures the pulse wave signal of the subject； a force measuring unit for measuring the contact force between the subject and the pulse wave measuring unit； and a processor for inducing a change in the contact force between the subject and the pulse wave measuring unit using the second light source based on the measured contact force, and estimating the blood pressure based on the measured pulse wave signal and the measured contact force.일 양상에 따른 혈압 측정 장치는, 피검체의 맥파 신호 측정을 위한 제1 광원, 상기 피검체와 맥파 측정부 사이의 접촉 힘 변화를 유도하기 위한 제2 광원, 및 상기 제1 광원에서 상기 피검체에 조사되어 상기 피검체로부터 되돌아오는 광을 수신하여 상기 피검체의 맥파 신호를 측정하는 광 검출기를 포함하는 맥파 측정부와, 상기 피검체와 상기 맥파 측정부 사이의 접촉 힘을 측정하는 힘 측정부와, 상기 측정된 접촉 힘을 기반으로 상기 제2 광원을 이용하여 상기 피검체와 상기 맥파 측정부 사이의 접촉 힘 변화를 유도하고, 상기 측정된 맥파 신호와 상기 측정된 접촉 힘을 기반으로 상기 피검체의 혈압을 추정하는 프로세서를 포함할 수 있다.
