An implantable product for regulating the direction of blood flow in a human patient, comprising: a leaflet containing a composite material comprising at least one fluoropolymer layer having a plurality of pores, and an elastomer present essentially in all pores of said at least one fluoropolymer layer, while the composite material contains less than about 80 wt.% fluoropolymer. 2. The implantable article of claim 1, wherein the composite material contains less than about 70 wt.% Fluoropolymer. The implantable article of claim 1, wherein the composite material contains less than about 60 wt.% Fluoropolymer. The implantable article of claim 1, wherein the composite material contains less than about 50 wt.% Fluoropolymer. The implantable article of claim 1, wherein the composite material further comprises an elastomer layer. The implantable product according to claim 5, in which the elastomer is a fluoroelastomer. The implantable product according to claim 6, in which the elastomer is a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and perfluoromethyl vinyl ether (TFE / PMVE). The implantable product according to claim 7, in which the copolymer essentially comprises from about 40 to 80 wt.% Perfluoromethylvinyl ether and from 60 to 20 wt.% Tetrafluoroethylene. The implantable product according to claim 5, in which the fluoropolymer is polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The implantable product according to claim 9, wherein the PTFE is expanded PTFE (ePTFE). The implantable product of claim 10, in which at least one fluoropolymer layer is characterized by a tensile strength of the matrix of more than p1.
