The subject of the present invention is to enable a device for generating functional water by water electrolysis to stably supply water for electrolysis to electrodes. The functional water generation device of the present invention comprises: a drinking water cup 50 which can be detachably mounted with respect to a base unit 1; an electrolysis pool comprising a polymer ion exchange resin membrane 61 composing a portion of the bottom surface of the drinking water cup 50, an upper electrode plate 62 disposed on the upper side of the polymer ion exchange resin membrane 61, and a lower electrode plate 63 disposed on the lower side of the polymer ion exchange resin membrane 61; a water storage tank 40 disposed on the base unit 1 for storing water for electrolysis DW to be supplied to the lower side of the electrolysis pool 60; a tank 20 disposed on the base unit 1 for replenishing water for electrolysis DW to the water storage tank 40; and, a power supply connected with the upper electrode plate 62 and the lower electrode plate 63. When the drinking water cup 50 contains pure water PW2, a DC current is supplied between the upper electrode plate 62 and the lower electrode plate 63 in order to perform water electrolysis. Thus, the functional water with enhanced dissolution ratio for specific components may be generated in the drinking water cup 50. A water-containing member 90 containing the water for electrolysis DW is disposed for contacting the lower surface of the electrolysis pool 60.本發明之課題在於使藉由水之電解而生成機能水之裝置中能穩定地向電極供給電解用水。本發明之機能水生成裝置,具備:飲水杯50,可相對於底座單元1裝卸;電解池,包含構成飲水杯50之一部分底面的高分子離子交換樹脂膜61、設於該膜上側的上側電極板62、及設於該膜下側的下側電極板63;蓄水槽40,設於底座單元1,對電解用水DW以供給至電解池60之下側之方式進行貯存;槽20,設於底座單元1,且向蓄水槽40補給電解用水DW;以及電源裝置,連接於上側電極板62及下側電極板63;於飲水杯50內含有淨水PW2之狀態下,向上側電極板62及下側電極板63之間供給直流電流以進行水之電解,藉此,於飲水杯50內生成已提高特定成分之溶存率之機能水;於蓄水槽40內,以接觸電解池60之下表面之方式設有含有電解用水DW的含水構件90。
