PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce labors in photographing a wide area exceeding a uniform area of a static magnetic field, and to improve the image quality and the efficiency in photography.
SOLUTION: In the magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, a first receiving coil fixed to a bore and a second receiving coil fixed to a table are switched on/off while moving the table and photographing, and the speed of moving the table is varied. The image in the wide area is reconstructed by using the signals received by the first receiving coil and the second receiving coil. For example, the parallel photography, the small-field photography, and the high-spatial resolution photography or the like are performed while the second receiving coil is on.
