The present invention provides antibodies that bind to human gremlin-1 (GREM1) and methods of use. According to a particular embodiment of the invention, said antibody is a fully human antibody that binds to GREM1. Since the antibodies of the present invention are useful for inhibiting or neutralizing GREM1 activity, they provide a means for treating diseases or disorders associated with GREM1, such as fibrosis and cancer. In some embodiments, the antibodies of the invention are used to treat at least one symptom or complication of liver, lung or kidney fibrosis.
