The compositions and articles demonstrate efficacy, even in point-of-contact applications, against various pests of domestic animals, such as, but not limited to arthropod ectoparasites including-horn flies and buffalo flies. Methods are provided in which compositions 10 can be employed as pour-ons, spot-ons, dusts, or sprays for direct topical application to the domestic animal； or in which articles comprising a polymer resin base, such as an ear tag, from which the active ingredients of the composition can be released, are affixed to the animal to provide long-term delivery.
