The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, treating or alleviating prostate diseases comprising extracts of Acanthopanax sessiliflorus, Phragmitis rhizoma, and Pinus densiflora S.et Z. as active ingredients. A complex extract of Acanthopanax sessiliflorus, Phragmitis rhizoma, and Pinus densiflora S.et Z. has an effect of inhibiting the activity of 5-alpha-reductase associated with prostatic hyperplasia, and uses natural plant-derived ingredients to reduce or remove side effects of decreasing the male sexual function caused by using synthetic compounds in the past. Also, it is confirmed that the usage of the complex extract of Acanthopanax sessiliflorus, Phragmitis rhizoma, and Pinus densiflora S.et Z. mixed in a proper ratio has a remarkably superior effect of inhibiting the activity of 5-alpha-reductase compared to cases of using each of the same extracts. Thus, the composition of the present invention can replace the synthetic compounds that have been dependent on imports for the prevention or treatment of prostatic hyperplasia, thereby contributing to the national economy； and is expected to be used in various fields such as medicines, medicinal applications, functional biomaterials, and functional food materials as a prophylactic or therapeutic agent for prostatic hyperplasia with reduced side effects caused by existing 5-alpha reductase inhibitors.본 발명은 오가피, 노근, 및 적송 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 전립선 질환 예방, 치료, 또는 개선용 조성물 등에 관한 것으로서, 본 발명의 오가피, 노근, 및 적송 복합 추출물은 전립선 비대증과 관련있는 5알파 환원효소의 활성을 억제하는 효과가 있으며, 천연식물 유래의 성분을 이용하여 기존에 합성 화합물을 이용함에 따른 남성 성기능을 감소시키는 부작용이 적거나 없는 이점이 있다. 또한 본 발명은 오가피, 노근, 및 적송 추출물의 각각 보다 이를 적절한 비율로 혼합한 복합 추출물에 5알파 환원효소 억제 활성이 현저하게 뛰어남을 확인하였는 바, 전립선 비대증의 예방 또는 치료를 위해 수입에 의존해 오던 합성 화합물을 대체하여 국가 경제에 이바지 하고, 기존의 5알파 환원효소 억제제가 갖는 부작용이 감소된 전립선 비대증 예방 또는 치료제로서 의약용, 의약부외용, 기능성 바이오 소재용, 및 기능성 식품소재용 등 다양한 방면으로 이용이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.
