The present invention provides uses and methods of using a sema3E polypeptide and a sema3e polynucleotide encoding a sema3E polypeptide. The methods include decreasing airway remodeling in a subject, treating asthma in a subject, treating a subject having, or at risk of having, acute asthma, and reducing inflammation of a subjects airway.
