The present harvesting unit accommodates different plant varieties preventing the different plants from bending over when shaking the plant. The fruit harvesting unit is adapted to be mounted on a harvesting machine. The unit includes a straddling chassis which delimits a harvesting tunnel. Plants are introduced successively through a front opening, convergent entry (17), into the harvesting tunnel to be shaken and exit through a rear opening, a divergent exit. The harvesting unit has a main shaker system including two shaker devices disposed on respective sides of the harvesting tunnel. The shaker devices delimit a central part of the harvesting tunnel. The harvesting unit is characterised in that it further includes an additional shaker system (19) that is mounted on the straddling chassis. The additional shaker system (19) includes two shaker devices disposed on respective sides of the harvesting tunnel which delimits transversely a front upper part of the tunnel.
