PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus predicting an examined eye position with respect to at least the horizontal direction to lead an eye examination part, based on an inter-pupil distance of a subject estimated from the vertical position of a jaw reception base.SOLUTION: This ophthalmic apparatus includes: a face fixing means abutting on at least the forehead and the jaw of the subject and fixing the face of the subject a jaw reception means which can vertically move in the face fixing means and abuts on the jaw of the subject an eye examination means performing an eye examination a display means displaying an examined eye observation image observed in the eye examination means a drive means moving the eye examination means and an eye examination means position detection means detecting the position of the eye examination means. The ophthalmic apparatus includes: a jaw reception position detection means detecting the movement position of the jaw reception means and a control means controlling the drive means based on information of the jaw reception position detection means.
