PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image diagnostic device that enables a positioning operation in long-length imaging to be efficiently performed with a simple device configuration, and an imaging method.SOLUTION: In long-length imaging, an image processing unit 14 displays a camera image 71 taken with a video camera 2 on a display unit 15, and superimposes an X-ray image 74 obtained by the last X-ray exposure upon a corresponding position on the camera image 71. The image processing unit 14 further superimposes a virtual marker 75 indicating the position of a marker 5 at the last X-ray exposure upon the camera image 71 and X-ray image 74.
