To provide an artificial nest having high nesting probability of birds.
SOLUTION: The artificial nest 1 has a basket-like form having a bottom part 2 and a side part 3 rising from the circumference of the bottom part 2 and formed by randomly bending a long nest material 10. The side part 3 has multiple base parts 30 formed plurally along the circumference of the bottom part 2 and rising upward from the circumference of the bottom part 2, and two knitted parts 32 knittable to the base part 30 along the circumference of the bottom part 2. In contrast with conventional fixed nesting cage and the size and shape of the artificial nest 1 can be varied by a bird to meet the preference and the body type of the bird by knitting the knitted parts 32 to several selected base parts 30. Accordingly, when the artificial nest 1 is attached to a steel tower or a POWER distribution post, a bird to build a nest can be guided to the artificial nest attached to a safe place to prevent earth fault, short-circuiting failure and etc., caused by collapse of the nest.
