Provided are tomato plants having fruit with red and yellow segments that appear across the fruit from the internal seed area to the most external layer of the epidermis. The present invention discloses that this phenotype, designated Arlecchino, is linked to insertion mutation within the Phytoene synthase 1 (Psy1) gene.La présente invention concerne des plantes de tomate donnant des fruits ayant des segments rouge et jaune qui apparaissent au niveau du fruit depuis la zone de graines interne jusqu'à la couche la plus externe de l'épiderme. La présente invention indique que ce phénotype, appelé Arlecchino, est lié à une mutation par insertion dans le gène Phytoène synthase 1 (Psy1) .
