The invention relates to polymers selected from amongpolypropylene (PP), polycarbonate (PC), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene(ABS), polyvinylchloride (PVC) andpolyethylene terephthalate (PET), nylon and polystyrene,having antibacterial properties, wherein the antibacterialeffect is obtained by adding a zinc salt selected fromamong: zinc PCA, zinc oxide, zinc hydroxide, zincpyrrolidone or zinc pyrithione during the process ofpolymerization of the monomers. The antibacterial polymersare used to prepare products intended to enter into contactwith the skin.
