A method and an apparatus for extracting mid-level features for transfer learning of a small-sample medical image are suggested. According to the present invention, the suggested method for extracting mid-level features for transfer learning of a small-sample medical image comprises the steps of: performing transfer learning by using parameters of an AlexNet model pre-trained in the imageNet in an initializing step； selecting a mid-level layer among a plurality of convolutional layers constituting the AlexNet； and learning and updating only the mid-level layer and the last fully-connected layer.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020소표본 의료 영상의 전이학습을 위한 중간 레벨 특징 추출 방법 및 장치가 제시된다. 본 발명에서 제안하는 소표본 의료 영상의 전이학습을 위한 중간 레벨 특징 추출 방법은 이미지넷(imageNet)에서 선학습된 알렉스넷(AlexNet) 모델의 파라미터를 초기화 단계에 사용하여 전이학습 하는 단계, 상기 알렉스넷을 구성하는 복수의 컨볼루션 레이어(convolutional layer) 중 중간 레벨 레이어(mid-level layer)를 선택하는 단계 및 상기 중간 레벨 레이어와 마지막 완전-연결 레이어(fully-connected layer)만을 학습시켜 업데이트하는 단계를 포함한다.
