The present invention relates to a method for producing a licorice extract, and to a composition for preventing or treating stomatopathy, containing an extract obtained therefrom. According to the present invention, extraction is carried out by removing glycyrrhizin from licorice in an easy and simple way and then concentrating substances effective in stomatopathy. In addition, the licorice extract obtained by the method does not contain harmful solvents and thus is safe as well. Owing to its inhibitory activity against S. mutans, the licorice extract can be effectively applied for preventing and treating stomatopathy including dental caries.본 발명은 감초 추출물의 제조방법 및 이로부터 수득된 추출물을 포함하는 구강질환 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 대한 것이다. 본 발명에 따르면, 감초로부터 쉽고 간편하게 글리시리진을 제거하고 구강질환에 효과가 있는 물질들을 농축하여 추출할 수 있다. 또한, 이러한 방법으로 수득된 감초 추출물은 유해한 용매를 포함하지 않아 인체에 안전하며, S. mutans 균의 억제 활성이 높아 치아 우식증을 비롯한 구강질환의 예방 및 치료에 효과적으로 적용할 수 있다.
