PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MRI apparatus capable of precisely correcting a variation in a resonance frequency due to the temperature change of a magnetostatic field generation magnetic circuit, regardless of whether before or after imaging.
SOLUTION: The MRI apparatus includes: a magnetostatic field generating means a gradient magnetic field generating means and a control means for controlling the current of the gradient magnetic field generating means. The control means allows the current to flow in the gradient magnetic field generating means in at least a partial period during non-imaging so that a change in temperature of the magnetostatic field generating means becomes in one direction before/after the imaging.
