An antibody or fragment thereof that binds to the epitope that specifically binds to an EphA2 receptor, characterized in that said antibody or fragment thereof that binds to the epitope is capable of inhibiting the binding of efrinA1 to said receptor, and is capable of inhibiting typhosine phosphorylation of EphA2 in the presence of efrinA1, (i) in which said antibody or said fragment thereof that binds to the epitope comprises at least one heavy chain and at least one light chain, wherein said heavy chain comprises three sequential complementarity determining regions having the amino acid sequences represented by SEQ ID NOS: 1, 2 and 3, and wherein said light chain comprises three sequential complementarity determining regions having the amino acid sequences represented by SEQ ID US: 4, 5 and 6; (ii) wherein said antibody or said fragment thereof that binds to the epitope comprises at least one heavy chain and at least one light chain, wherein said heavy chain comprises three sequential complementarity determining regions having the sequences of amino acids represented by SEQ ID NOS: 7, 8 and 9, and wherein said light chain comprises three sequential complementarity determining regions having the amino acid sequences represented by SEQ ID NOS: 10, 11 and 12; (iii) wherein said antibody or said fragment thereof that binds to the epitope comprises at least one heavy chain and at least one light chain, wherein said heavy chain comprises three sequential complementarity determining regions having the sequences of amino acids represented by SEQ ID NOS: 13, 14 and 15, and wherein said light chain comprises three sequential complementarity determining regions having the amino acid sequences represented by SEQ ID NOS: 16, 17 and 18; (iv) wherein said antibody or said fragment thereof that binds to the epitope comprises at least one heavy chain and at least one light chain, wherein said heavy chain comprises three sequential complementarity determining regions having the se
