Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Zusammensetzung enthaltend mindestens einen Cranberry-Extrakt mit einem hohen Gehalt an Proanthocyanidinen des Typs A (PAC-A) zur Behandlung und/oder Prävention von Harnwegsinfekten, insbesondere von rezidivierenden Harnwegsinfekten. Bevorzugt enthält die Zusammensetzung mindestens einen Oxalsäure freien Cranberry-Extrakt mit einem hohen Gehalt an Proanthocyanidinen des Typs A (PAC-A).
