PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pants type article capable of preventing slide-down without excessively tightening a waist, and obtaining a stable fixing and fitting state.
SOLUTION: The pants type article includes a waist opening part and a pair of leg opening parts in an external body. The external body includes: two sheet materials joined by intefmittently arranged joint parts and a plurality of elastic members which are arranged in a non-joint part between both the sheet materials, independent from both the sheet materials, and freely expansible. The elastic members are arranged mutually and substantially in parallel in a direction to tighten a hipline when the elastic members are contracted, in a waist area, including the waist opening part, and an iliac bone area positioned under the waist area. The joint parts arranged in the waist area are arrayed in an orthogonal grid shape with respect to the elastic members. The joint parts arranged in the iliac bone area are arrayed in a houndtooth check shape with respect to the elastic members.
