The invention relates to the dairy industry, in particular to storage of milk obtained by milking and its transportation to a dairy milk processing plant. It is provided a system for storage and transportation of milk, comprising the heat-insulated hermetic containers for milk storage, connected with the milking machines through a milk line, and the heat-insulated hermetic containers for milk transportation, mounted on a self-propelled vehicle, the processing equipment for milk pumping, the fixed tanks of dairy manufacturing, as well as the washing devices and cleaning means for processing equipment. Each of the storage and transportation containers is connected with a vacuum pump(s) and an antibacterial air filter(s) through the respective valves. The environmental parameters control means of the effective volume of the container are provided to control the valves operation mode. The cleaning means further comprise a drying unit, connected with the vacuum pump. The invention further provides a corresponding container for milk which can be used as a storage container and/or transportation container. The invention further relates to a method for milk storage and transportation, wherein all processing equipment, including the storage and transportation containers, are cleaned before each usage cycle by means of inter alia low pressure drying using a vacuum pump. At all stages milk is hermetically isolated from the contact with atmospheric air, and the air entering the container is preliminarily subjected to antibacterial treatment and filtration.
