An acid- and bile salt-resistant Lactobacillus isolate is disclosed. The Lactobacillus isolate (accession No. BCRC 910493) is purified from a plant fermentation products. The Lactobacillus isolate, whatever itself or the composition including the same, can effectively decrease and assimilate cholesterol, thereby applying on food or its ingredient, food supplement or medical composition.本發明是揭露一種耐酸且耐膽鹽之乳酸桿菌分離株,其係由植物醱酵物分離並純化而得,且利用此乳酸桿菌分離株(寄存編號為BCRC 910493)或其製得之組合物,可有效降低與同化膽固醇,從而應用於食品或其組成分、飲食補充物或醫藥組合物。
