A catheter curvature brace, catheter assembly and method for managing fluid ina patient, thebrace being attachable to a distal portion of a shaft of a catheter and havingan elongated framewith a distal end and a proximal end. The frame is formed with at least onecurve in a relaxedcurved configuration. At least two coupling elements are connected to theframe, each couplingelement configured to engage an outer surface of the catheter. At least theframe is formed of anelastic, biocompatible material capable of being straightened by a force andthen returning to therelaxed curved configuration after the force is removed, thereby bending thecatheter tosubstantially conform to the relaxed curved configuration.
