Disclosed embodiments provide an improved stimulation device, including a cup and a driver. The cup has a cavity surrounded by a rim. In use, a user positions the rim such that an opening to the cavity is over an area to be stimulated (for example, the clitoris). A sealed- or substantially-sealed, chamber is formed by the cavity walls and the user's skin (surrounding the clitoris). A driver is configured to vary a volume of a cavity of a cup from a first volume to a second volume. The cup returns from the second volume to the first volume, in between intermittent varying from the first volume to the second volume, due to a buckle region wall of the cup springing out. The varying of the volume creates a pressure field in the chamber. The springing out produces a “thud” force, also used intechangably with “thump” force.
