PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indwelling method for a catheter demonstrating an excellent phylaxis effect without using an antimicrobial agent and optionally detaching and replacing the catheter.
SOLUTION: In the indwelling method for the catheter to be indwelled in the body, a subcutaneous tunnel from a skin puncture part to a target blood vessel, body liquid vessel or internal organ is molded beforehand inside subcutaneous tissue pertinent to a route for indwelling the catheter to be indwelled in the body, and when not using the catheter to be indwelled in the body, the catheter to be indwelled in the body is not inserted to the subcutaneous tunnel. When using the catheter to be indwelled in the body, a guiding catheter with an inner lumen to which a guide wire can be inserted is inserted through the subcutaneous tunnel to the target blood vessel, the body liquid vessel or the internal organ, then the guide wire is inserted to the guiding catheter, then the guiding catheter is removed leaving the guide wire, and the catheter to be indwelled in the body is inserted along the guide wire thereafter.
