The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing high purity 1,2-hexanediol and, more specifically, to a method for manufacturing high purity 1,2-hexanediol comprising: a buffer solution treating step of mixing and stirring purified water and a buffer solution with 1,2-hexanediol having 99.5% purity, refluxing and cooling the same under reduced pressure conditions and then injecting granular active carbon a first hexanediol collecting step of collecting 1,2-hexanediol by distilling a mixture from which the purified water is removed after removing the purified water by reducing the pressure of the mixture which has completed the buffer solution treating step a deodorizing step of mixing and stirring the 1,2-hexanediol collected through the first hexanediol collecting step with purified water and granular active carbon a filtering step of filtering the mixture deodorized through the deodorizing step and then removing the granular active carbon a second hexanediol collecting step of collecting 1,2-hexanediol by reducing the pressure of filtrate from which the granular active carbon is removed through the filtering step, and then removing purified water and distilling in a vacuum state an organic solvent treating step of separating bottom water by pressing and fixing after mixing the 1,2-hexanediol collected through the second hexanediol collecting step with purified water and an organic solvent, and removing the purified water and the organic solvent by vacuum distillation after the separated bottom water is filtered and a bubbling step of injecting the 1,2-hexanediol which has completed the organic solvent treating step into a bubbling device, and bubbling nitrogen.
