A sensor is connected to control device, to detect vertical position of machine, machine inclination in forward or sideward direction, and distance between machine and object. The control device is operable to derive in which topographical zone among several topographical zones of field the agricultural machine is situated, from signals of sensor, and to activate the actuator as a function of respective topographical zone.
