The present invention relates to a transnasal nanoemulsion for pharmaceutical drug delivery. It particularly relates to a high pressure homogenizer with the formation of nanoemulsion and/or mucoadhesive nanoemulsion for the schizophrenia and/or acute mania associated with bipolar disorder. The pharmaceutical formulation comprises oil, water, mucoadhesive polymer or suitable mucoadhesive polymer and surfactant. The formulation provides better retention, increase bioavailability, decrease toxicity and also targets mucosa of brain through nose.
