The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition and a functional food product for preventing or treating thrombosis, which comprise an extract of Sorbus commixta stems as an effective component, and more specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition and a functional food product which comprise, as an effective component, a hot water extract of Sorbus commixta stems, and particularly an ethylacetate fraction obtained from sequential fractionation of the hot water extract of Sorbus commixta stems using an organic solvent, residual materials thereof in water, or a mixture thereof. The extract of Sorbus commixta stems of the present invention shows potent antithrombotic activity due to inhibitory effects on enzymes related to the formation of thrombus and blood clotting factors, and can thus be used beneficially for preventing and treating thrombosis such as hemorrhagic stroke and ischemic stroke through the improvement of blood circulation.본 발명은 마가목(Sorbus commixta)의 줄기 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 혈전증(thrombosis)의 예방 또는 치료용 약학적 조성물 및 건강 기능 식품에 관한 것으로서, 보다 구체적으로는, 마가목 줄기의 열수 추출물, 특히, 마가목 줄기 열수 추출물로부터 순차적 유기 용매 분획 후 수득되는 에틸아세테이트 분획물, 물 잔류물 또는 이들의 혼합물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 혈전증의 예방 또는 치료/개선용 약학적 조성물 및 건강 기능 식품에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 마가목 추출물은 혈전 생성 관련 효소 및 혈액 응고 인자 저해 효과에 의한 강력한 항혈전 활성을 나타내며, 혈행 개선을 통해 허혈성 뇌졸중 및 출혈성 뇌졸중과 같은 혈전증의 예방 및 치료용으로 사용할 수 있는 뛰어난 효과가 있다.
