PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imager, especially a multipurpose special magnetic resonance imager having improved characteristics especially for imaging the spine region.SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imager has a magnet having two magnetic poles defining a space for imaging a subject and a wall connecting the two magnetic poles, a table arranged between the two magnetic poles, extended practically in parallel with the two magnetic poles and slidably connected to either of the two magnetic poles, a drive displacing the table with respect to the magnet, a lock for locking the table in the position selected with respect to the magnet, and a drive for rotating the magnet around a shaft center. The table is connected to the magnet so as to make the rotate together with the magnet when the magnet rotates around the shaft center.
